about

A song about the pitfalls of being a starry-eyed adolescent, moving across an ocean by yourself and waking up to a different reality on the shore. Essentially 'Portofino' is a place of disillusionment, but also a freedom achieved through letting go of fictionalised expectations.

lyrics

Again I ride writing songs in my head that won't ever be heard
What am I doing on this earth in slavery of sounds and words?
Maybe I like not understanding the world
Come and dance in my shatters with me
Hand me back my mirrors

Let me not like me
Let me not like me

Used to believe in pretty things, but now I don't anymore, don't anymore
What am I doing?
What am I doing?

Is it that all our lives befriending time is all we try to do?
All our lives befriending time is all we try

Let me not like me
Let me not like me
